Happy Sunday, Fam! 💕
It’s not too often you get to dance within the walls of a museum while celebrating one of the most inspiring communities out there.🔥
Below is a morning timecapsule that is hands down, one of our favorite mornings from the spring so far. Thank you to the Renwick Gallery (the Smithsonian American Art Museum’s branch for contemporary craft!) for this incredible opportunity to help kick off this magical exhibit, collaborate and dance immersed in art.
Fam, may this be your reminder today that we are made of stars. ⭐️ We are living, breathing conscious energy. Let’s embrace that with our entire beings today.

I QUIT SOCIAL DRINKING AND STUMBLED UPON MAGIC🥂
4 years ago, I stopped drinking (with some exceptions) and began a process of cleansing my body, heart, mind and soul. Quitting was a challenge, but what next? Socializing sober was often awkward and I struggled to overcome social anxiety. How do I celebrate success? What to do when THE social activity is so often drinking?🍻
Then last November, I stumbled across an Insta post of a Daybreaker event and decided to give it a try. I had done a few yoga classes, but as a triathlete and cyclist, I don’t think I’ll ever be limber. I love to dance, but I had never been trained or skilled. However, since I could keep a beat, I figured it might be a good one-off workout experience…
For my first Daybreaker, I showed up in shorts and t-shirt ready for a workout! The yoga was fun and I admired the many graceful experienced participants, yet felt comfortable struggling along with a number of other rookies.
Then as we rolled up our yoga mats, the dance party crew started to filter in. What were all these costumes? People poured in who I would have never normally come across in my life as a Midtown financial advisor, living in the suburbs of CT. The ’80s music theme felt familiar, so I danced my ass off for two hours straight! Oh and there were hugs coming and going, making me feel welcome and included from the moment I walked in. ❤️
I have to say, I am now hooked. I’ve been to 7 NYC Daybreakers and one in Miami over the last 5 months! I have quickly taken to finding costumes to get into the spirit of the theme.
A side benefit is I’ve gained a lot more confidence socializing elsewhere sober and getting into the spirit without getting lit.
Daybreaker fuels me! In the week or two leading up to an event, I’m frequently thinking about costume ideas, and in the days after, I’m buzzing with energy from the fun while thinking about moments and connections I made.✨ I carry Daybreaker intention cards in various jacket pockets and often refer to them for inspiration throughout my day. And then before my buzz fades, the next event theme is announced and I jump right in buying 2 tickets! I usually have an extra that I’ll give away to a first-time attendee via Facebook post — join me for the next one?

🎧 SUNDAY PLAYLIST 🎧
“Music is the voice of this universe. That’s why no matter who you are, no matter where you come form — music can you bring you together. Wen you look up at the sky at night and you see those stars, remember that is your original home. That is where you come from. You are made of the stars and the sky. You are beautiful. And thats what brought life to you. You are not your body. You are not your mind. You are living, breathing conscious energy. You are conscious love. You are conscious energy. And you are meant to be great. Rise up.”
