“Passion can seem intimidatingly out of reach at times — a distant tower of flame, accessible only to geniuses. But curiosity is available to everyone.”
– Elizabeth Gilbert
Happy Sunday Fam! 💕
The temps in most of our cities have been hawt to say the least, but because we do it for the love of it — we just can’t keep ourselves from dancing. I think it was Elizabeth Gilbert who once said, if you feel the muse coming and you don’t latch on to it right away, it flies away to find another creative being. Ooooo. ✨ That being said, if you’re feeling the muse to move this summer — come play! We’re gearing up to break the day across five cities this week. Here we gooooo!💃
And fun tid bit: Thursday’s new moon in Cancer and partial solar eclipse is helping wash away what wasn’t meant to last and turning us towards what our souls are really wanting.😍Here’s to some meaningful expansion and getting real with your heart.<3
Ok fam. Keep scrolling for our dance floor tale, your new playlist, all the upcoming events we have in store, and some real science about the REAL reasons why we all love summer things so much.🍉’Tis a juicy one.

✨MY FIRST-EVER DAYBREAKER✨
On Wednesday, June 27, 2018 I attended my first Daybreaker. I’ve known about Daybreaker since its inception, however, since I am an elementary school teacher, I had not had the opportunity to attend an event.
So it was with great excitement that I saw the next event (Red, White, and Boogie) was the day after school ended. Even though I’d have to get up earlier than my usual 5:30 wake up call ⏰, I knew it would be worth it. As I approached the venue, the Gilded Lily, I saw other Daybreaker community members making their way, and my excitement grew. I was one of the first people in line (for the 7am dance party) and as soon as I stepped inside was offered a hug by one of the Daybreaker staff.🤗 I made my way down the stairs and for a few minutes I felt some trepidation about getting on the dance floor. I decided to let that go and ended up staying on the dance floor for the rest of the party.
I wasn’t thinking about my potentially awkward dance moves, what anyone else may have thought of me, and just lost myself in the music and all of the positive energy.🎶💃 I was able to stay for the “after party” and hear Elliott LaRue share his song, as well as Radha share about the future of Daybreaker. They passed out #IBelong pins (a reminder to everyone who sees or wears that we belong here on this earth) and mine now lives on my backpack as an invitation for anyone to join me for the next Daybreaker. 💕
While I didn’t leave with new friends, I did leave as part of a family. The whole experience surpassed my expectations.💫
Thank you to all the mischief, music, and light makers!
With love & mischief,
// Brooke

Why These 4 Earth Natures Make Summer Feel So Good: sand, salty air, bodies of water to swim in… Here are reasons to make you feel extra good about escaping this weekend.😎✌️
💨 Salty Air: Salt air contains negative ions that accelerate our body’s ability to absorb oxygen, which gives us extra energy.
🌊Bodies of Water: Water has an intrinsic calming effect. Environmental scientists are still searching for exactly why water balances out serotonin levels, but many people do attest to the idea that it’s the mash up of water, weather and sound that produces an overwhelming sense of mental tranquility.
🏖Sand: Running and walking on sand improves proprioception— aka our ability to sense where our bodies are in space. Walking barefoot on sand is a great way to tap into this, particularly since there are so many nerve endings in our feet (3-7,000 per foot!)
🌞Sun: Healthy exposure to sun helps our bodies produce Vitamin D which keeps our bones healthy. You can also find Vitamin D in salmon, soooo maybe go fishing while you’re at it?🎣
