Happy Sunday Fam! 💕
One year ago, an incredible act of love and community took place within our fam. Eli, the double decker smiled community catalyst inside Daybreaker HQ secretly brought together some of our closest friends to curate a mischievous wedding proposal for Daybreaker C0-Founder, Radha Agrawal (she was totally unsuspecting; just wait ’til you see what happens).
In Radha’s words, “now, as we return to the dust (as we speak!), we wanted to share this moment with you as a reminder that magic exists when we believe it exists and that anything is possible with friends. We love you.”
All right fam, before we begin, we’ve got two words for you: Goosebump city. So without further adieu, we give to you a glimpse into what happens when love and community are your life force.
Keep scrolling for a very motherly dance floor tale, your Sunday tunes, upcoming events, noodles about how to set up your apartment to be friend-making friendly, and our Sunday Seedlip serve. <3
With endless love & mischief,
// Team Daybreaker
PS — thank you to editing wizard, Perry Grone and the 5 friends (Seth Bunting, Tomas Loewy, Matt Emmi, Raul Gasteazoro, Irina Kazakova Sunallure) who speckled the dust storm with video cameras to capture love from every angle.🙏
✨TALES FROM A DAYBREAKER MOM✨
I never imagined myself dancing for two hours at Fenway Park at the ripe old age of 65, but one April day in 2017… somehow it happened (my daughter says I need to include an emoji here… not quite sure what that is).
[Emojis from here on out will be sprinkled in by Kathy’s daughter and Morning Mischief editor, Katelyn Collins 😋]
I am proud to say my daughter, Katelyn, has been a community member at Daybreaker and now works with them full time. Early on during her Daybreaker career, it was with much excitement she called my phone with some great news. “Mom! We’re dancing at Fenway. You need to go!” ⚾️💃
Having attended numerous of my daughter’s plays and hundreds of her brother’s baseball games growing up, it was an easy yes to become part of something she lives every day. I went because my daughter wanted me to go, but I couldn’t see myself being involved. I thought I’d watch on the sidelines and just take it all in.
However, to my delight it was so much more than that.💫
After meeting a number of people from the Daybreaker team, I almost felt it was a necessity to take part since everyone was so inviting. My dance moves were exceptional (and very much appreciated by my daughter). 😋 The smiles I saw on the faces of Elliott the Emcee, Vic the DJ, Radha and the team were so sincere and natural. The closest thing to alcohol was a screwdriver minus the vodka.🍊 And the last impression I remember leaving with was feeling energized and excited.
Mornings like these are what the world needs today: bringing people together in a positive atmosphere and sending them home content and fulfilled for the day.🌍❤️
With love & mischief,
// Kathy

How to Make Your Apartment More Community-Building Friendly: An excerpt from BELONG by Radha Agrawal.🎉📒
Here’s something you probably never thought of before… 🛋
Designing intentional spaces is at the root of belonging. It’s the physical container for relationships to form and deepen. My friend, Tony Hsieh is the CEO of Zappos. He designed his office to inspire more “collisions” in the hallways; 💥Google built a cafeteria for the employees to connect over meals; and SoulCycle designed their locker rooms so that those coming into the spin studio had to walk past those who had just finished a class. Thoughtful spaces will inspire deeper, more meaningful connections on all sides.✨
What’s up with couches? 🤔 When my twin sister Miki and I were living together as roommates, we discovered that couches were awkward for eye-contact conversations. You have to crane your neck uncomfortably to talk to each other! So we got rid of ours and built a cuddle-puddle in our living room instead. We had two queen size mattresses that we pushed together with pillows and throws adorning them, and when friends came over, we cuddle-puddled together, talking, laughing, and watching movies. We’ve had friends in their sixties down to our three-year-old niece cuddle-puddling in our living room, and it’s been the best way to connect as FSFs! 💕
