As humans, we share the planet with some pretty fab animals, and with many of them, community and family bonding are real things.

Here are some family bonds that exist IRL … and all the way out in the wild, based on heartwarming facts we found on the interwebz. 🌐

ELEPHANTS 🐘

Are you an elephant stuck in the mud? Don’t worry. Elephants have long been known to rush to the aid of herd members in trouble. Elephants also have the most well-documented funeral rituals and have been known to shed a tear or two when someone from the herd dies.

Have you herd? We love each other naow.

WOLVES 🐺

Did you know wolves actually miss each other when they’re separated? How do we know? They howl more. They may also even sacrifice their own lives to protect the rest of the pack. That’s some serious devotion.

HO-WL I ever live without you?

ORCA WHALES 🐳

Did you know that orca whales (different from what’s depicted below) rarely spend more than a few hours apart? How do they ever GSD? Or maybe they get a lot done … #TEAMWORK 👊

DOLPHINS 🐬

In 2013, five individual dolphins were recorded saving an injured dolphin’s life by forming a raft with their bodies. Meanwhile, ten other dolphins stood by, taking turns to be a dolphin-shaped-life-saving-raft for their bud.

Flipper ain’t here no more … he’s off being a raft.

CHIMPANZEES 🐵
