As children, we’re naturally inclined to self-express. Mark Manson says it best:

“Remember back when you were a kid? You would just do things. You never thought to yourself, “What are the relative merits of learning baseball versus football?” You just ran around the playground and played baseball and football. You built sand castles and played tag and asked silly questions and looked for bugs and dug up grass and pretended you were a sewer monster. Nobody told you to do it, you just did it. You were led merely by your curiosity and excitement.”

Then one day our inner sewer monster grew up.

And started doing what we thought other sewer monsters would think we should do.

Oops.

Self-expression is our vehicle to accessing our best ideas, our greatest purpose, and our most meaningful friends. Want to find your best life path? Decide to self-express with your words, your thoughts, your actions, and only live as a representation of what is true for you. Watch what happens.

The “right” circumstances will fall into place.

It will become impossible to not attract the social tribe best suited for us.

Self-expression is our own little freak flag, meant to wave down all the people and circumstances we’d be best to co-mingle with. Magic happens when freak flags fly.

Ideas that only we could have, unlock.

Then they turn into things that benefit the world.

The world thrives when we self-express.

And though it can be daunting at times to voice our true heart’s opinion or let ourselves be wildly free, the more we act out of truth, the more good stuff we create.
